Octopath traveler more than 2 jobs11/24/2023 ![]() you can enjoy the story and be rewarded for playing it immediately or focus more on the gameplay and have a new character and job/path action set sooner coupled with fast travel and i never really feel like my time spent playing is a slog or waste. This game has so many implementations like this and its brilliant. I didnt play OT1 (and now I feel compelled to) but have played similar/derivative games, so the tutorial flexibility ends up being the best for all parties and levels of genre/series experience Throne and Temenos ch.1s taught me enough about the game, NPCs, and the bosses to feel comfortable learning the rest as I go. so if you have more of a 'ill learn how they work as i play' approach, being able to skip these chapters and come back to them at my leisure is a godsend. the chapters also double as a tutorial to their path action and job/unique character mechanics. so if youve gotten far enough that those rewards dont matter, you can youtube it and get back to playing the gameįor those who play for the gameplay, switching to a 1 character + guests mini-arc can feel like halted progress. you get minor bonuses by completing them such as character job progress and items obtained carrying over, though you can even go back and restart them whenever. You can also skip character chapter 1 prologues, thats huge for me. some sidequests even have multiple ways of tackling them, to accommodate different party unlock orders Rhapsody: Marl Kingdom Chronicles (Rhapsody 2+3)Ī lot of this is what makes this game so good on a first play, path actions benefit you but dont feel necessary to do all the time.
